What are traits?
Traits are the characteristics of a living thing. Parents pass traits on to their offspring. These traits are called inherited traits. The passing on of these traits from parent to offspring is called heredity. Members of a group, such as mammals or birds, all have traits in common with other members in that group. Hair, for example, is a group trait for mammals, while feathers are a group trait for birds. No two organisms are exactly the same though. There is always something different in each organism. These are individual traits. They help us identify members of the same group. Not every human looks alike, right? We can tell each other apart from our individual traits, including eye color, size, hair, etc. While we all have traits in common with each other, we also have our individual traits that tell us apart from one another.

- Earlobes (Attached or unattached)
- Cleft Chin (Cleft chin or no cleft chin)
- Etc.
